Market Intelligence Analyst

There are more than 500 million smallholder farms globally. 2.5 billion people depend on Smallholder Communities for their food and livelihoods. Smallholder regions are characterized by low living standards, high rates of illiteracy and low agricultural productivity. Yara's mission is "Responsibly Feed the World and Protect the Planet". Key to achieving this is enabling thriving Smallholder Communities. At Yara, the Smallholders Digital Team is part of the Crop and Digital Solutions Unit.

Yara aims to be the crop nutrition company for the future and is leading the development of sustainable agriculture and digital tools to contribute to solving global agricultural challenges. We have a worldwide presence with sales teams in ~150 countries and around 17,000 employees. Yara Farming Solutions, will lead the transformation towards more sustainable and efficient food production, by innovating our offerings and the way we work. Crop and Digital Solutions is responsible developing and scaling new “on-farm” digital and integrated tools and solutions for an efficient and transparent food system.


  • Derive insights from various data points and craft recommendations to improve farmer-centric campaigns/methodologies for Go-to-market teams and Product Owners.
  • Oversee and profile competing products, in areas such as value proposition, pricing and sales tactics to assist in Yara's product strategy development.
  • Uncover market opportunities and evaluate value-capture potential for the smallholder farming ecosystem where applicable:
    • Provide forward looking insights on market trends, government policies etc.
    • Identify key differentiators on customer behaviour between different markets
    • Develop market maps  and identify potential market related risks.
  • Work with Product / Marketing Data Analysts on competitive offerings, financials, monetisation, pricing, and marketing positioning.
  • Liaise with various in-country teams and external agencies to collect requirement, determine scope, and finalise market intelligence project timelines. Be the main point of contact on market insights and intelligence for smallholder farming ecosystem.


  • Experienced in at least two market intelligence projects with focus on customer behaviour, segmentation, pricing strategies, brand positioning etc.
  • Independently able to manipulate data and perform analytics (Excel is a must; Python & SQL preferred)
  • Proficient communication to business stakeholders as well as analysts and product leads
  • Experience in working across larger teams and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Experience in smallholder farming / agriculture will be a good plus
