Program Manager, Platform Services

About Crop and Digital Solutions

Yara aims to be the crop nutrition company for the future and is leading the development of sustainable agriculture and digital tools to contribute to solving global agricultural challenges. Yara Farming Solutions, will lead the transformation towards more sustainable and efficient food production, by innovating our offerings and the way we work. Crop and Digital Solutions is responsible developing and scaling new “on-farm” digital and integrated tools and solutions for an efficient and transparent food system.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering services, APIs, process efficiencies and other platform deliverables within the Yara Smallholder Platform services while working closely with Data discipline, User Experience, Solution teams, DevOps and Security teams to prioritise and ship inter-dependent technical deliverables pertaining to common platform services. Cross-team coordination and prioritisation of work relating to Product Management and Solution Architecture.
  • Herald data-driven governance initiatives for improving service maturity by conducting service reviews, setting up error and performance monitoring and creating/upgrading SLAs.
  • Develop Product Strategy, defining clear requirements, and work with Platform teams to drive key initiatives to completion. Evangelise technical initiatives & vision, to both internal and external stakeholders. This may involve presentations and documentation.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Own third party SaaS procurement, portfolio maintenance, integration and decommissioning.
  • Create, maintain and disseminate project and program information to stakeholders at regular cadence while driving effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
Profile
  • Experience working as a Technical Product Manager or Program Manager for platform/backend/API teams working on services or SaaS deployed on commercial clouds in at least two projects with a strong technical background preferably in a hands-on role within product engineering. Prior experience within projects built on Javascript Tech-stack (We use React, React-Native & NodeJS).
  • Documented experience in a customer success role with very effective communication skills. Proven stakeholder management skills juggling requirements from multiple client teams.
  • Understand principles of SOA and micro-services development, deployment and CI/CD, technology governance for cloud services and maintenance. Familiarity with the functions of DevOps, Security and Data Privacy and their considerations in software development.
  • Prior experience in at least two projects creating, deploying and maintaining inter-dependent services and databases (both SQL and NoSQL) deployed on AWS and led product planning & strategy for teams involving both full-time members and vendors comprised of developers, automation engineers and architects.
  • Working experience with our tools: JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Teams etc.
