About the Unit

Yara International ASA is a Norwegian-based chemical company.  Its largest business area is the production of  nitrogen fertilizer however it also encompasses the production of  dry ice, nitrates, ammonia, urea and other nitrogen-based chemicals.

The company was established as Norsk Hydro – the world’s first producer of mineral nitrogen fertilizers. Yara is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and has its headquarters in Oslo, Norway. The company has more than 7,600 employees, with operations in more than 50 countries and sales to over 150 countries. Norsk Hydro Philippines Inc. was established in September 1986 as a subsidiary of Norsk Hydro Asia Pte. Ltd. based in Singapore.

In March 25, 2004, Norsk Hydro ASA separated its Agri business into a new company, Yara International ASA. Consequently, Norsk Hydro Asia Pte. Ltd. has been renamed Yara Asia Pte. Ltd. and Norsk Hydro Philippines Inc. became Yara Fertilizers Philippines Inc. which began its operations in September 5, 1986.

Yara delivers solutions for sustainable agriculture and the environment. Our fertilizers and crop nutrition programs help produce the food required for the growing Philippine population. Yara has a long history in the Asian market, and its focus is to develop the Yara Crop Nutrition concepts to increase food production, create value to the growers and minimize the environmental impact of agriculture.

Currently, Yara Philippines is looking at strengthening its Supply Chain Customer Service operations, thus, the need for an experienced and talented Customer Service Officer.



  • Responsible for developing and implementing for Visayas/Mindanao Region Order-To-Cash (OTC) customer-centric differentiated service approach and customer relations strategies to improve current systems and meet the company’s overall business plan.
  • Lead Order processing to Invoicing activity / team to ensure customer orders are processed timely and resolution of any bottleneck is sought to.
  • Coordinates with internal country stakeholders on rolling out key Customer Service projects such as ‘customer complaint handling’, ‘sales forecasting improvement project’, ‘inventory tracking – automation of reports’, ‘customer segmentation’ etc.
  • Interfaces with distribution warehouses, salespersons, logistics and customers to ensure order fulfillment.
  • Receives, executes and tracks customer orders on time and at the required standards to satisfy customer needs.
  • Resolves issues and customer complaints, completes documentation and creates customer invoices, tracks payments and resolves or escalates non-payment issues to ensure full payment is received.
  • Understands customer needs and shares this information with the sales team.


EDUCATION                            : BS Degree Graduate, MS Preferred, Agriculture or other related fields

EXPERIENCE                          : At least 5 -8 years of work related experience

PERSONALITY/SKILLS          :                                          

        • Computer literate with knowledge in MS Office, Sun 6 & SAP based applications.
        • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
        • Should have strong understanding of products, business practices and knowledgeable on the industry characteristics.
        • Is driven and is comfortable working alone and with teams.
        • Is articulate and possess good negotiation and risk management skills.
        • Is able to establish good rapport to both internal and external customers.
        • Sound understanding IT tools and systems is necessary to support key forthcoming projects.
