Finance Assistant

About the Unit

Yara International ASA is a Norwegian-based chemical company.  Its largest business area is the production of  nitrogen fertilizer however it also encompasses the production of  dry ice, nitrates, ammonia, urea and other nitrogen-based chemicals.

The company was established as Norsk Hydro – the world’s first producer of mineral nitrogen fertilizers. Yara is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and has its headquarters in Oslo, Norway. The company has more than 7,600 employees, with operations in more than 50 countries and sales to over 150 countries. Norsk Hydro Philippines Inc. was established in September 1986 as a subsidiary of Norsk Hydro Asia Pte. Ltd. based in Singapore.

In March 25, 2004, Norsk Hydro ASA separated its Agri business into a new company, Yara International ASA. Consequently, Norsk Hydro Asia Pte. Ltd. has been renamed Yara Asia Pte. Ltd. and Norsk Hydro Philippines Inc. became Yara Fertilizers Philippines Inc. which began its operations in September 5, 1986.

Yara delivers solutions for sustainable agriculture and the environment. Our fertilizers and crop nutrition programs help produce the food required for the growing Philippine population. Yara has a long history in the Asian market, and its focus is to develop the Yara Crop Nutrition concepts to increase food production, create value to the growers and minimize the environmental impact of agriculture.

Currently, Yara Philippines is looking at strengthening its Finance function at the Head office in the area treasury,thus, the need for a Finance Assistant.




  1. Preparation of checks to suppliers/payee
  2. Preparation of requirements for auto debit and wire transfer in case of bank transfer transactions
  3. Preparation of requirements for fund transfer for payment of intercompany payables
  4. Monitoring of schedule of payments in relation to cash flow and daily reporting of cash in bank balances
  5. Updating schedule of dollars payable and tracks registered invoices and its subsequent settlement upon purchase of US dollars from the bank
  6. Submission of invoices for stamping and registration of goods imported (RGI) of new shipments to the bank
  7. Recording of hedge transactions, including the revaluation of outstanding hedge
  8. Responsible in maintaining forex data schedules and revaluation of all forex-related accounts
  9. Maintain and monitor transactions under cash pooler database
  10. Prepares monthly bank reconciliation
  11. Preparation of monthly reports
  1. Schedule of outstanding intercompany account
  2. Schedule of outstanding hedges invoices
  1. Coordination with bank personnel
  2. Responsible for  filing accounting documents related to his responsibility
  3. Validation, tracking and recording of payments received from customers
  4. Issuance of collection an official receipts for every cash receipt transaction
  5. Recording of collection receipts and allocation in the system
  6. Preparation of weekly aging report of receivables
  7. Receipt, monitoring and recording of creditable withholding tax certificates from customers
  8. Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time


  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degre,  Finance/Accountancy
  • CPA or non-CPA


  • 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field      


  • Good oral & written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all relevant stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented, orgnized and able to handle multiple tasks.
