About the Unit

Yara Fertilizers Philippines Inc. has been supporting the Filipino farmers since 1986. Headquartered in Taguig City, Yara’s presence is felt across the Philippines where it operates in the country’s three major territories – Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. With two main warehouses located in Bulacan and Davao, respectively, Yara has served its growing customers’ needs making its products accessible to end-users.

The parent company, Yara International ASA is a Norwegian chemical company. Responsibilities

  • Provides technical knowledge on crop nutrition and management support to commercial team and customers to ensure optimum crop health and production in the targeted crop segments.
  • Supports sales teams and customers with proper fertilizer recommendations and crop advice.
  • Does the plant nutritional recommendations in terms of products, quantities, application and timing based on soil analysis and according to industry norms and Yara guidelines.
  • Assists the commercial team in farm visits and field inspections to customers 
  • Attends agricultural/farmer’s days/events and give technical inputs/presentations.
  • Develop and improve the technical abilities of the sales teams through Agronomical trainings.
  • Coordinates and provides technical inputs to marketing and commercial team necessary for the development of appropriate product promotion and/or communication tools 
  • Aligns and prioritizes activities with the commercial team 
  • Coordinates with Supply Chain and liaise with the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority for product registration and other related matters
  • Assists in the marketing/promotion the use of Yara Tools among sales force and customers. (FieldPro, N-tester, Check-it, TankMixIt etc).
  • Meet market requirements through continuous product development and up to date with industry trends
  • Align and prioritize activities with the local Yara commercial strategy
  • Be recognized as an expert in one or two main crops (level of crop manager), but demonstrate expertise in various other crops that advice will be recognized and sought by the agricultural community

 

Profile

  • A degree in Agriculture or related field is required
  • Relevant experience in similar role/environment.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Good understanding of the agricultural landscape of the country
  • Agronomic skills and knowledge. 
  • Ability to effectively transfer knowledge and explain difficult concepts.
  • Ability to function under pressure and deliver on time.
  • Must have organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to build commitment, teamwork and cooperation and overcome differences of opinion.
  • Results Oriented: The ability to focus on the desired result of own work.
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring that own work and information are complete and accurate.
  • Initiative: Identifying what needs to be done and doing it before the situation requires it.

Additional Information

A skilled driver and holder of a valid driver's license - a must since the role requires travelling and extensive fieldwork.
