Credit Manager

About the Unit

The Credit Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining standardized credit and collection policies, ensuring operational excellence, and overseeing the credit management activities for Yara North America, Yara Canada, and Industrial Chemicals. This role requires a highly motivated professional with strong technical skills, the ability to work independently, and the potential to lead the Credit Management function across the business unit in the future. The Credit Manager will play a key role in harmonizing credit policies and procedures with Yara Belle Plaine and fostering collaboration across Yara’s Credit Management network.

 


This position will be based out of our Tampa, FL office and will offer a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain credit and collection policies, practices, and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with credit policies across all customer accounts.
  • Provide accurate and timely credit reporting and analysis for Senior Management.
  • Manage and maintain an effective credit management and control system within S4/SAP.
  • Establish and review customer credit lines with sales teams, balancing risk and business opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough credit risk assessments, financial analysis, and annual credit file reviews, ensuring OFAC compliance.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, including aging reports, cash applications, and lockbox deposits, ensuring strong collections performance.
  • Foster collaboration within Yara’s Credit Management network to promote best-practice sharing, process harmonization, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and provide support, training, and guidance to Credit Specialists and Analysts, ensuring a solid backup system when team members are unavailable.
  • Manage credit insurance policies, ensuring adequate risk mitigation.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, including NACM members, Heartland Ag Group, financial institutions, and credit insurers.
  • Support future BP Plant Credit Management activities integration into the broader BU structure.
  • Travel with sales personnel to meet with customers, providing expert insights on credit-related matters.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance operational excellence, leveraging technology and data-driven insights for continuous process improvements.
  • Assist leadership and project managers in decision-making and strategic initiatives.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a credit function within a complex, multi-entity organization.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, collections, and financial analysis.
  • Experience working with S4/SAP and advanced MS Office.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive process improvements.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and foster a culture of best-practice sharing.
