Inside Sales Representative - Industrial

About the Unit

The Inside Sales Representative is a results-driven sales professional responsible for supporting the Industrial Nitrates Sales Director in the day-to-day management of the business while identifying, developing, and growing smaller accounts within the customer portfolio. This role requires a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, an interest in industrial markets, and the ability to proactively identify sales opportunities while supporting operational and commercial objectives.

 

The Inside Sales Representative will report to the Industrial Sales Director. The position will be based in Tampa, FL and will offer a hybrid working schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor market trends, research competitors, and perform market analysis to identify potential growth opportunities.
  • Support the Industrial Sales Director in maintaining existing business and developing new commercial opportunities.
  • Identify, analyze, and manage Tier 2 customer accounts within industrial markets including Oil & Gas, Concrete Admixtures, and Mining Applications.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers to ensure high levels of service, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Work directly with customer plant-level personnel to ensure demand forecasts and delivery expectations are met.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Customer Service, Transportation, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Logistics to support efficient order fulfillment and operational alignment.
  • Coordinate with support functions such as HES, Product Quality & Stewardship, Finance, and Credit to ensure compliance with company policies and product stewardship standards.
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports summarizing sales activities, market insights, account developments, and key performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities within the CRM system.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of the company’s wholesale and operations model to better support customers and internal stakeholders.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, or commercial support roles.
  • Experience in industrial, chemical, or commodity-based markets is preferred.
  • Exposure to supply chain, logistics, or operations in a B2B environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); SAP and Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry or industrial chemical products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret market and business data.
  • Ability to learn operational processes and integrate commercial and supply chain considerations into customer solutions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management capabilities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
