Procurement Teamlead

About the Unit

As a Procurement Manager you are leading the Supply Management department consisting of the purchasing organization and spare part handling. As an important stakeholder to the Central Procurement organization, you will actively contribute to the implementation of the Yara Procurement Strategy LEAP. 

Responsibilities

  • Be a role model for the department to employees and contractors in achieving excellent performance with Health, Environment and Safety (e.g. Walk – Observe – Communicate);
  • Managing contracts, purchasing activities, material handling and internal logistics activities in the department in close cooperation with internal stakeholders, and main contractors, including follow-up contractual aspects, negotiation, administration and close out activities;
  • Selecting qualitative suppliers, manage supplier relationships and negotiating and concluding agreements including added value KPI’s and SLA’s, in collaboration with central procurement representatives and in accordance with central procurement strategies;
  • Implement contracting strategy initiatives;
  • Reporting and follow up of shared Procurement KPIs (e.g. savings, payment days);
  • Conduct regular performance reviews (PMP) and agree development plans for all direct reports, maximizing competencies and alignment to department goals;
  • Secure strict adherence of sourcing and contracting activities in line with Yara’s procedures (Procurement Policy and Process, Contracting Policy and IDD) and business code of conduct;
  • Continuously strive for procurement process improvements to create improvements of efficiency and effectiveness, control costs and prevent incidents;
  • Managing the roll out of the Transformation Process including the Yara Productivity System as well as the category driven procurement system in the department and with contractors;
  • Work in close cooperation with the TPO Procurement and liaise with other sites and the categories to realize added value and operational excellence, ensuring synergies and knowledge sharing with the other Plant Procurement Managers within the region and across regions;
  • Be an active contributor to the implementation of the new Yara procurement Strategy LEAP and to the roll-out of Enable Procurement (implementation of updated processes and systems to digitalize the procurement function in Yara)

Profile

  • Master/Bachelor degree in a relevant field
  • The ideal candidate has an experience of 5-10 years in contract and contractor management and procurement in an international industrial environment
  • Strong negotiation skills, result oriented, analytical & combining conceptual insight with hands-on approach
  • Team player
  • Experience in lean manufacturing methodology is beneficial
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Core behavioral competences: take responsibility, adaptive leadership skills, open-minded  make the right decisions, walk the talk, improve and grow, work together, communicate well.
