Tax Technology Assistant

About the Unit

The successful candidate will be part of the Indirect Tax Team which is responsible for all indirect tax matters across the EMEA region. The Tax Technology assistant  will assist in  projects to ensure that the Yara Europe VAT processes are compliant to the EMEA countries announced electronic real time reporting requirements. The team focuses on five main areas : Projects & Planning, Business Support, ERP Implementation & Processes, Compliance & Reporting and Customs.

The overall purpose is to play a supporting  role in the Indirect Tax set-up of the ERP systems and implementation and coordination of Indirect Tax Processes throughout the EMEA region.  The Technology assistant  will report to the tax technology manager.

What will your main responsibilities be?

You will support the indirect tax team by ensuring accurate VAT configuration within the YEU YSAP ERP landscape, contributing to the design and implementation of indirect tax processes, and securing proper VAT logic across the EMEA systems. You will also collaborate closely on the S/4 HANA implementation program, help maintain VAT‑related tools and internal controls, and assist in the execution of EMEA-wide digital compliance initiatives. In addition, you will act as a point of contact for cross‑departmental VAT questions and assist in planning activities across various VAT projects.

    • Support system changes in YSAP and VAT-related tools
    • Contribute to automatic tool development for internal and ICFR controls
    • Ensure VAT legislative changes are implemented in end‑to‑end processes
    • Liaise with the Tax Technology Manager on strategy and improvement initiatives
    • Support e‑invoicing, e‑filing, archiving, and scanning projects
    • Coordinate VAT‑related queries from other departments
    • Assist in planning and prioritizing team projects

Who are you?

You bring strong technical aptitude and the curiosity to learn new systems quickly. You have hands-on experience with ERP environments, especially SAP, and you work confidently with Microsoft Office and Power BI. Furthermore you understand the requirements of VAT reporting tools in the EMEA region and know how VAT determination works within ERP systems. You collaborate easily with colleagues from tax, finance, IT, and business, and you enjoy translating complex tax needs into practical system solutions. With your positive, can‑do mindset, excellent communication style, strong problem‑solving ability, and solid organizational skills, you ensure smooth execution and contribute to a high-performing team.

    • Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, information systems or related field (or equivalent experience
    • Basic understanding of tax concepts (VAT, indirect taxes in general)
    • Excellent oral and written English language skills
    • Ability to work ethically and full integrity when making sensitive or difficult decisions.
