Turnaround Manager

We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.

What will your main responsibilities be?

As a Turnaround Manager you will report to  the Site Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for realizing Business Plan Turnarounds/Projects in a safe and effective way. You will achieve this by planning, managing and supervising all activities related to maintenance or investment projects on site.

As Turnaround Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing plant turnarounds (shutdowns) safely, on time, and within budget. You will oversee all turnaround activities in full compliance with Yara’s values, management system, and legal obligations. Your responsibilities include organizing the turnaround in accordance with Yara Standards, defining the turnaround scope and associated cost estimate and capital applications. You are also responsible for assembling the team from Maintenance and Production to achieve successful planning and execution. In addition, the following tasks are part of your responsibilities:

  • Lead and define turnaround objectives and scope in close cooperation with the Project Advisory Group;

  • Develop and maintain turnaround execution plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, and timelines.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with turnaround activities;

  • Conduct post-turnaround reviews and implement lessons learned by driving improvements in turnaround processes and tools.

  • Monitor progress against schedule and budget, implementing corrective actions as needed;

  • Build relations with personnel within Yara Sluiskil, third parties, other Yara sites and the technical network within Yara International.

In addition, you will foster a collaborative working environment by ensuring that all team members work together effectively and maintain strong communication throughout the turnaround process. All activities will be carried out in accordance with the applicable procedures at Yara Sluiskil and guided by Yara’s core values: Curiosity, Ambition, Collaboration, and Accountability.

Who are you?

You bring a strong ability to solve complex problems with a hands-on mindset and solid analytical skills. Your open and motivated attitude allows you to connect easily with others, and you thrive in an international environment where collaboration and adaptability are key. In addition, you have the qualities:

  • Technical Bachelor or Master degree;

  • Extended work experience in an industrial surrounding and a strong affinity with production and maintenance;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Dutch;

What do we offer you?

  • Working in an international environment with an open company culture and a strong focus on sustainability;

  • Competitive salary and benefits

  • Awareness for positive work-life balance (flexible hours, homework);

  • Good accessibility from the Ghent area;

Do you recognize yourself in the description above, but are some qualifications missing? Yara wants to invest in people, so we would like to get in touch with you!
