Senior DevOps Engineer
About the Unit

The newly established function, Yara Farming Solutions, will lead the transformation towards more sustainable and efficient food production, by innovating our offering and the way we work.
The software engineering department is responsible for developing and scaling new “on-farm” digital and integrated tools and solutions, which will work toward driving a more efficient and transparent food system and better live environment.
Responsibilities
- Build, develop and improve the global Cloud Platform for infrastructure, security and operations
- Maintain and improve Yara Europe infrastructure code written via terraform and AWS cloud development kit
- Empower and support solution teams in getting to production and running stable services
- Organize global operations and incident response process and tooling
- Running and maintaining our production infrastructure in AWS - Kuberenets cluster and all other services used by data and software engineering teams
- Analysis of complex system behaviour, performance and application issues within distributed systems generally, and Kubernetes in particular
- Development of monitoring solutions and analysis across multiple data centers
- Capacity analysis and planning, traffic routing, and security policies
- Support, guide and educate the development teams on production ready, scalable engineering patterns
- Drive adoption of and adherence to global operations and infrastructure standards in the local development teams
- Perform infrastructure trainings to software and data engineers
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines written via Github Actions
Profile
- First and foremost, you are a software engineer, Operations and Infrastructure challenges are solved with software and automation
- Hands-on experience with Linux/UNIX systems administration and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience and comfort with working hands-on with a range of scripting, infrastructure, services and tools including:
- Scripting and software engineering (Python/Ruby/Bash/Go/etc.) - (Strong Must)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Web servers (Nginx,Apache), Application Servers(Tomcat,Node.js), document stores and relational databases (Postgres)
- API Gateways (Ambassador) and Services Mesh (Istio)
- IP networking, including familiarity with the functionality, operating, and failure modes of networks
- Site Rebility Engineering patterns and visibilty/performance/availability monitoring (Datadog, Instana,Nagios.)
- Experience with mobile app deployment pipelines and supporting SaaS services (Firebase, MS App Center.)
- Experience with Agile Methodology & principles for Software Development
- Background in and happy to work hands-on with technical troubleshooting and performance tuning
