IT/OT Support Engineer (Information Technology/Operational Technology)

About the Unit
Yara UK and Ireland is part of the global company Yara International ASA.
We are leader in the product development, manufacture and marketing of speciality nutrients & biostimulant products for use in regenerative agriculture worldwide. The business has grown significantly in recent years and has continued ambitious growth objectives for its Biological products. To meet this growth a new Global Production plant is currently being built in Howden, UK.
We are seeking an IT/OT Support Engineer (Information Technology / Operational Technology) to join our team in Howden.
Reporting to the Production Manager in this role, you will be responsible in supporting the production site with all operational IT systems to maintain IT systems and Operating Technology infrastructure.
This role requires cross-functional expertise in enterprise IT systems (e.g., networks, servers, cybersecurity) and industrial control systems (e.g., SCADA, PLCs, sensors).
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities for this role are:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support OT devices.
- Administer and secure industrial networks.
- Implement change control procedures and maintain documentation for OT assets.
- Perform general maintenance, security updates, upgrades, diagnostics, and data backups of DCS workstations or servers.
- Responsible person for achieving and maintaining compliance with company cybersecurity policy.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for both IT and OT environments.
- IT Support - ensure the smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, servers etc.
- Follow ITIL-based service management processes (incident, problem, and change management)
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in computer/electrical engineering, Information Technology.
- Experience in application software, knowledge of hardware, networking, and computer support services.
- Experience with cloud integration of industrial systems.
- Used to working on and supporting production sites.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies.
- Strong understanding of OT and Industrial Control Systems.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and provide effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Professional Certifications ie Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Network+ would be beneficial but not essential.
