About the Unit

We are looking to recruit a number of permanent Production Operators, who MUST be able to prioritise Safety & Quality in the workplace and ideally have a FLT licence, however training would be provided. 

The starting salary is £25,300 (£12.16 per hour), with development plans to grow and progress in the company if the person continually shows the correct behaviours and performance and contributes as expected.

This role currently based in Pocklington and will move to be based at our brand new facility in Howden by 2026, which is currently under construction.  This new facility is to ensure our high quality fertilizer products continue to be produced, in line with business growth plans, before being exported to over 60 countries.

Responsibilities

The factory has a range of process plant and equipment, liquid and powder filling lines that involves operating mechanical handling equipment such as counter balance fork lift trucks. The role will have the expectation of cross training within different areas on site and report to the Process Managers.  You would be working on a rotating shift pattern or standard days basis as required.

Profile

  • To work in full compliance with all Company and local procedures related to chemical, process and occupational safety

  • The operation of production plant and equipment, including: semi-automatic bottle filling lines, powder tipping stations or bag and sack filling machinery  

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the work area

  • Required to operate mechanical handling equipment (MHE) - subject to qualification/training - namely counterbalance fork lift trucks and pedestrian pallet trucks (both powered & manual).

  • Good level of safety awareness

  • Be able to critically analyse their workplace to put forward and help implement ideas to improve Safety, Quality and Productivity. Continuous Improvement is a key part of the role.

  • Able to work rotating shift patterns as and when required

  • Have a high level of safety awareness and understanding of relevant regulations, and demonstrate compliance to these at all times.
