Software Engineer (Boomi)

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement robust multi-system integrations using Boomi AtomSphere and Boomi API Management.
Develop complex Boomi processes using advanced shapes, orchestration, parallel processing, batch handling, data transformation, enrichment, and real-time event processing.
Implement standardized integration patterns including synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven, publish/subscribe, and message-based integrations.
Develop and maintain reusable integration components, maps, profiles, connectors, subprocesses, and shared frameworks.
Integrate Boomi with enterprise applications and platforms, including SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, Workday, ServiceNow, Azure AD, and other SaaS and on-premise systems.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Boomi deployments using Git and relevant DevOps tools.
Implement robust error handling, retry mechanisms, exception recovery, logging, and alerting.
Monitor integration processes using Boomi AtomSphere dashboards, monitoring tools, and API Management analytics, and proactively identify performance or reliability issues.
Optimize Boomi processes for performance, throughput, latency, scalability, and memory utilization, using features such as Atom Queues, Process Routing, and Document Caching.
Troubleshoot production issues and participate in root cause analysis (RCA), implementing permanent fixes and process improvements.
Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other Boomi developers to ensure quality and adherence to integration standards.
Collaborate with solution architects, application teams, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams to deliver integration solutions aligned with business requirements.
Contribute to integration documentation, technical design specifications, deployment documentation, and operational runbooks.

Profile

Strong hands-on experience in Boomi AtomSphere development, including Process Building, deployment, execution, troubleshooting, and advanced shapes.
Proven experience developing complex enterprise integrations using Boomi.
Experience with Boomi API Management, including API design, deployment, security, versioning, and monitoring.
Experience integrating Boomi with SAP and other enterprise applications, preferably across both cloud and on-premise environments.
Strong understanding of REST and SOAP APIs, including API design, consumption, authentication, and troubleshooting.
Experience working with multiple data formats, including XML, JSON, CSV, EDI/X12, Flat Files, and database formats.
Experience with JDBC/database integrations and good understanding of SQL.
Hands-on experience with scripting using Groovy, JavaScript, or Java is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

4+ years of experience in integration development, with significant hands-on experience with Boomi.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise integration environments.
Experience supporting integrations in production and handling critical incidents..

Additional Information

Good understanding of integration patterns such as Publish/Subscribe, Message Queuing, Orchestration, Event-Driven Architecture, and Canonical Data Models
Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate complex integration and production issues.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed development and support teams.
Experience implementing or exploring AI capabilities using the Boomi platform is a plus.
Experience with Git and CI/CD practices for integration development and deployment.
Good understanding of integration security concepts including OAuth 2.0, SSL/TLS, API Gateway configuration, encryption, and secure token handling
Boomi certification is an advantage.
